Roses and Best Friends

"Roses are red, best friends are true.
Roses do wither; i do not because of you."

This is for *Paingu 's PaigeeDraw's best friends contest. The characters are Chloe (left) from one of PaigeeDraw's characters and Amelia (right, my original character.

I was working on this for three days. And the roses certainly did almost killed me... just the line work on the roses had me 1 hour, the rest of the details for two more hours (on the first day). Then for the next two days, I was coloring and detailing. And the outcome, is good enough. I guess.

Everyone, I did this everything by hand, like what i did to most of my previous works. I did not do any post-scan edits as the contest rules says everything's gotta be traditional. So it hurts me each time one says that i edited this in the computer and doesn't believe me that i did it by hand. I don't even own a tablet myself! So imagine coloring this with that outcome using a mouse... what impossibility is it not? My digital coloring even sucks, so i stick using my hand in doing artworks.

I used poster paints (main coloring), colored pencils ( color detailing), mechanical pen (line detailing) and oil pastels (finishing touches for colors).
